Biography
Dr. Hatfield is a dedicated educational leader with over three decades of experience in the region, nurturing student growth and achievement across all age groups. As a committed advocate for lifelong learning, he has mentored teachers, administrators, and students, fostering an environment where character development and academic excellence thrive.
Dr. Hatfield's was a Secondary Social Studies Teacher at Upper Dauphin Area High School, where he taught from 1994 to 2002. He then served as Assistant Secondary Principal in the Halifax Area School District. His leadership journey continued as Principal of Halifax Area High School from 2006 to 2016, followed by his role as Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, and Superintendent. He was welcomed to WVSD in the fall of 2024.
Dr. Hatfield holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Shippensburg and Millersville University, along with a Superintendent Letter of Eligibility, Principal Certification, and a Master’s in Teaching and Curriculum from Pennsylvania State University. His dedication to professional development is evident in his ongoing efforts to enhance communication, data-driven instruction, and school culture within the Williams Valley School District.
